Jail N Bail

This is one fundraiser Pagels held in 2011 to raise money for the new playground. We're very grateful to all who participated in this unique event!

Playground PRIDE to host a Jail n’ Bail event

to Benefit Universal Accessible Playground

Alma E. Pagels PTA Playground PRIDE Committee is hosting a “Jail n’ Bail” on March 26th from 10am to 2pm in the school’s cafeteria to help aide the future universal accessible playground. The event is designed to bring people together to have fun while raising money to help make a dream come true for the children of West Haven of all abilities to enjoy.

During the Jail n’ Bail event, the arrestees will present themselves and be placed in jail where they will be photographed in a “mug shot” in front of a Western Jail Cell Door hand painted by Pagels very own art teacher, Mr. Mark Battista. Legal aide will be available from the West Haven High School’s “Mock Trial” students.

Once arraigned, the arrestee will go before one of our Judges: Superintendent Neil C. Cavallaro, Assistant Superintendent Dr. Anne Druzolowski, News 8 personality Sara Welch and Pagels School Psychologist Alison McBride.   The judges will set bail according to their fun non-criminal acts such as “bad hair day,” “best parent in the world,” “most talented principal,” etc. The arrestee must then raise their bail before being released. West Haven Peer Advocates and the Orange Kohl’s A-Team will be available to assist.

The Jail n’ Bail brochure can be located on Pagels website under the Playground PRIDE link. Warrants are $5.00 each and must be mailed to Alma E. Pagels School, Attn: Jail n’ Bail, 26 Benham Hill Road, West Haven, CT 06516 by March 20th, checks payable to “Pagels PTA Playground PRIDE”. Please be sure the individual you want arrested is willing to participate and are 18 years of age or older.

Crafts for the kids and light refreshments will be provided. Families come out and meet Black Bear Milford’s Mascot from noon to 2pm.
